About the Degussa 50 Years Rep of S’pore Silver Proof Medal 1oz Design.

Degussa has minted a special medallion to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Singapore’s independence.

Weighing one ounce and made of 999 fine silver, this medallion shows on the reverse Singapore’s emblematic crescent moon and stars surrounded by the country’s outline, alongside the number 50.

The obverse of the medallion is devoted to Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles, who is considered to be the ‘Father of Singapore’.
In 1819 Raffles founded Singapore by purchasing the land for the British East India Company and thus establishing the first British settlement.

The medallion comes encased in a plastic capsule in a sleek black box.
