Lunar Snake Design
These 2025 coins feature a striking portrayal of a snake, a symbol of wisdom, transformation, and protection in Chinese culture. The reverse design portrays a coiled snake on the ground beneath hanging leaves. The Chinese character for ‘Snake’ and the inscription ‘Year of the Snake’ are clearly displayed, along with The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark.
The coin’s obverse bears the Dan Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, along with the monetary denomination.

The coin is issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965.
